Meet Dr. Edward Galvin
Dr. Edward Galvin was born and raised in Oswego and is happy to have been able to provide natural and holistic chiropractic care to his community since 1988. He enjoys the fact that no two days are the same and that he’s able to help so many people heal without drugs and surgery.
An Early Introduction to Chiropractic Care
Growing up, Dr. Ed was very active in sports playing football, basketball, baseball and hockey. After he suffered a neck injury at the age of 5, his parents took him to the chiropractor and his problem was corrected. Chiropractic care helped keep him in the game any time he had an injury.
During his senior year in high school, he had a knee injury playing football that required surgery. Just a few months later he re-injured the same knee playing hockey and had a second surgery. Stiff and sore from being on crutches and limping from that second surgery, he visited his chiropractor.
It was at this time his chiropractor suggested that, after all of his years as a chiropractic patient, he should consider a career in chiropractic. His chiropractor called Palmer College of Chiropractic to have information sent to him and he’s never looked back.
A Good Education Leads the Way
After graduating from high school, Dr. Ed completed his pre-chiropractic education at Keystone College in Pennsylvania. He then attended the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, earning his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988 and returned home to establish Port City Chiropractic, P.C.. Our practice has grown over the years, providing natural health care to the Oswego and surrounding communities.
Highly Qualified and Experienced Care
Dr. Ed is also a Senior Clinical Instructor for Activator Methods International, Ltd., teaching these instrument-adjusting procedures to chiropractors and students.
He has taught classes across the U.S. and Canada and has been a member of the Clinical Advisory Board for Activator Methods International, Ltd. for many years.
Life Away From the Clinic
When he’s not helping patients, you’ll likely find Dr. Ed working out, working in the yard, hiking and being outside as much as possible. He and his wife Mary Anne have one daughter, Lexi. They have a petite mini-golden doodle, Murphy.
